In the modern context of Colombia, marked by technological acceleration due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a bibliographic review was conducted to examine digital competencies via the Web of Science database at the Manuela Beltrán University. This review focused on documents in both English and Spanish from 2017 to 2023 and was limited to Colombian publications or those involving Colombian participation. Surprisingly, the review uncovered only 7 pertinent documents, despite collaboration among Colombian, Spanish, and Peruvian universities. This indicates that the topic may not be a priority in Colombia or represents a barrier to academic publication in Colombian journals or by Colombian authors. The scarcity of publications underscores a potential lack of focus on digital competency research in the Colombian context or difficulties in publishing in recognized journals, highlighting an area of opportunity for future research on a crucial subject in the contemporary environment.
