Introducción: por medio de la presente investigación, se presentan los resultados de la revisión sistemática de literatura sobre innovación verde en pymes de mercados emergentes. Objetivo: el artículo analiza las investigaciones en Pymes de mercados emergentes. Materiales y métodos: se considera un análisis bibliométrico de orden cuantitativo apoyado por el uso del software Bibliometrix y un análisis cualitativo sustentado en una matriz de revisión de literatura sobre 50 publicaciones científicas indexadas en la base de datos Scopus. Resultados: el análisis permitió confirmar la relevancia de la innovación verde en las pymes para el desarrollo de ventajas competitivas sostenibles, íntimamente relacionado con el compromiso de sus directivas para integrar esfuerzos, capacidades y recursos con las partes interesadas. Conclusiones: el valor teórico de la presente revisión sistemática consiste en que se trata de la primera en los últimos diez años que se apoya exclusivamente en pymes de mercados emergentes, de acuerdo con el índice MSCI utilizando bibliometría, sirviendo como base para futuras investigaciones. En un sentido práctico, la investigación les permite a los empresarios disponer de información relevante en sus procesos de planeación estratégica con el fin de orientar sus políticas hacia el desarrollo de innovación verde como fuente de ventaja competitiva.
